Connecting an external graphics card on laptops is not new, since there are already the Gigabyte BookTop M1305 and M1405, but Shuttle has created its own implementation of an external graphics card, which is currently exhibited at CeBIT 2010. The I-Power GXT Mini has an ATI Radeon HD 4650 that plugs into your Shuttle netbook via a special GXP port (it looks like an HDMI port). According to reports, the graphics card increases graphics performance benchmark of 500 in 3DMark06 to 5000, which is considerable. The best part is that this accessory lets a PCI-Express slot available, to put, for example, a TV tuner card, a USB 3.0 card, among others. You can buy pre-configured versions with the card already plugged in, or just a barebone version.
