New MID from Dawa: the D7, with a touchscreen 7-inch display having the ability to manage multitouch, a Telechips 8901 processor clocked at 720MHz, 256MB of RAM, 4GB of internal memory, a microSDHC slot, an integrated GPS, the Wi-Fi, 3G and an HDMI output. The Dawa D7 MID can play videos in 1080p.
The Chinese manufacturer Witspad has unveiled the W8, a MID which is like a smartphone with the Maemo OS, a Marvell PXA 320 processor clocked at 806MHz, a touchscreen 4.3-inch display, 128MB of RAM, 256MB of ROM, a 3.2-megapixel sensor, a 3.5mm jack, a GPS, Wi-Fi, 3G, all for a price around $470.
1Cross MID Hybrid is a new ebook reader unveiled at CeBIT, which differs from other models as a design in real book form, it embarked on the left page, a E-ink touchscreen 6-inch display (resolution of 600 x 800 pixels) and on the right it features a MID under Android with a touchscreen 3.2-inch display (resolution of 480 x 320 pixels), placed over a keyboard. The gadget also offers an accelerometer, 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS, a webcam and also a MicroSD slot. No price or availability announced.
The Korean brand Cowon made official the release of its appointed W2 MID. The device has a touchscreen 4.8-inch display (1024 X 600 pixels), an Intel Atom Z510 processor at 1.33GHz, with a capacity of 60GB or 80GB, Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR, Wi-Fi, two USB ports, TV output, a battery life of 230 hours in standby and 10 hours in use, and runs under Windows 7. Its dimensions are 143.6 x 88.1 x 27.5mm for 450g and will be available soon in Korea from a price of 370 euros.
Preview at CES, of the M5, a MID under Android 1.5 which is equipped with a HDMI TV output, a touchscreen 5-inch display, Wi-Fi, and able of playing videos in 720p. No further information.
The Viliv N5 presented at CES a new MID that runs under Windows 7, which features a touchscreen 4.8-inch display (1024 × 600 pixels), an Intel Atom Z520 1.33GHz processor with 1GB of RAM, a 32GB SSD , Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3G, GPS, optical trackpad, microSD slot, a full keyboard, a 1.3-megapixel webcam and a battery life of 5 hours. Its dimensions are 172 x 86 x 25mm for 399g. No price announced.
RAmos unveiled its mobile internet device (MID), the W7, which is running under Android 1.5 operating system of Google. This MID features the Wi-Fi and 3G (optional) connectivities. It boasts a 4.8-inch capacitive touchscreeen display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels and is compatible with MP3, WMA, MKV, AVI, VOB, MPG, FLV and RMVB files, and also Adobe Flash.
Full QWERTY keyboard and sliding, an AMOLED touchscreen display, GPS, compass, Wi-Fi, and an ARM Cortex A8 processor at 800MHz, that’s all we know about the new MID under Android, the company Inbrics should disclose at CES in January ! To be continued.
The Chinese manufacturer Jinbo has just introduced a new MID, with a touchscreen display of 5″, under Windows XP, an Intel Atom Z510 processor clocked at 1.1GHz, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of SSD , Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, 3G, Bluetooth 2.0, at a price of $578. No release date for the moment.
Runwei has unveiled its A500, a netbook (that how the manufacturer describes it, even if it looks more like a MID …) Equipped with a TFT LCD 5″ touchscreen (resolution of 800 × 480 pixels) , Wi-Fi, a Telechips TTC7901 processor clocked at 500MHz, 64MB RAM, 2GB of NAND flash, all for a price of $276.
