Buffalo will therefore offer a little later in April an update of its MiniStation Cobalt USB 3.0. This new version will offer transfer rates close to 5GB/s, and will be equipped with TurboPC, Backup Utility, ECO Manager, RAMDISK and SecureLock technologies. Synology has released its latest NAS (Network Attached Storage), called DiskStation DS410. This NAS offers a 1.6GHz processor, 512MB of RAM, a built-in 256-bit AES hardware encryption, Gigabit Ethernet, an eSATA port, two USB 2.0 ports and can accommodate up to four 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch SATA hard drives, or four 2.5-inch SSD drives for up to 8TB of storage capacity. The NAS delivers an average of 115MB/s in reading speed under RAID 5 configuration in a Windows environment, and 54MB/s of writing speed. The Synology DiskStation DS410 NAS is available for pre-order via Amazon for a price of $499.
