MSI has (quickly) introduced its GE700, a laptop powered by the latest range of Core i5 processors, an ATI Radeon HD 5730 (1GB of VRAM DDR3), an HD camera, the Intel Turbo Boost Technology, an illuminated keyboard (only for hotkeys…), Windows 7 Home Premium, a HM55 chipset, an LCD screen of 17.3 inches and finally a SATA 250/320/500GB hard drive.
The Satellite U500-1FC laptop from Toshiba is an ultraportable laptop with a touchscreen display. Powered by an Intel Core i5 430M processor clocked at 2.26GHz and with 4GB of RAM, the thickness and weight of the Toshiba Satellite U500-1FC don’t make it the best travel companion… Price: €999.
Truly versatile, the HP Envy 15-1130ef laptop PC, powered by an Intel Core i7 720QM processor clocked at 1.6GHz, has a Blu-ray drive and some new components compared to the Envy 15-1030ef. The price is inevitably high: €1599.
The Samsung R580 laptop PC gets a new Intel Core i3 processor in its 330M version. A dual-core chip, capable of running all applications. Powered by its Nvidia GeForce 330M graphics card, the R580 laptop is able to run many games, if only one is satisfied with the native resolution (1 366 x 768 pixels) and moderate levels of detail. Price: €699.
The Eee PC 1201NL netbook from Asus is a 1201N, but with a less powerful processor, Windows XP, but always with a 12.1-inch screen and is characterized by a fine and exemplary finishes. Price: €349.
Here is the Acer Aspire One 532G, which is the first 10.1-inch netbook with a Nvidia GeForce ION 2 chipset to be released in the market. The Acer Aspire One 532G netbook under the Intel Atom N450 processor is priced at 399 euros.
Packard Bell offers a new version of its netbook with a 10-inch screen, the dot s2.fr/005. The Dot s2 is powered by an Intel Atom N450 processor and has a new design. The Packard Bell dot s2.fr/005 netbook is priced at €279.
The Precision M4500 15.6-inch laptop of Dell is very powerful, like its big brother, the M6500. You can choose between the Intel Core i5 or Core i7 processors. The laptop PC features an Intel Core i7-920XM Quad-Core Extreme Edition with a NVIDIA Quadro FX 1800M or 880M. Other notable features include a screen resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels with 100% of the color range, a backlit keyboard, a SSD of 64GB, a 3-megapixel camera, a multitouch trackpad, Precision ON and a Gobi 2.0 wireless chip multi-operator compatible. Prices start at $1,700.
Netsee introduced its latest super slim netbook called UNC-890 in South Korea, with a thickness of less than 2.5cm and weighing 920g. You’ll have a widescreen LCD 8.9-inch display at a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels, an Intel Atom N270 processor clocked at 1.6GHz, 1GB of RAM, a 3-megapixel camera, Wi-Fi and a 32GB SSD. The netbook is available in white or red. It is a very basic laptop: only for surfing and email.
MSI has a brand new ultraportable laptop for the general public: the X-Slim X360, and this slim model will work with an Intel Core i5 processor, assisted by the Intel Turbo Boost/Hyper-Threading technology, a screen of 13 inches at a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels, a 500GB hard drive, a memory card reader 2-in-1, HDMI/VGA output, two USB 2.0 ports, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, speakers, a 1.3-megapixel camera and up to 4GB of RAM. Pricing and availability are not known.
