The Kindle app for Mac OS X 10.5 and higher is now available, and this free application weighs 22MB. Many have sought since its announcement last October, when the iPad was only a rumor. With this app you can download Kindle books and read them on your Mac. The timing of the increase is entirely automatic, so you can switch between your Kindle and the iPhone on the fly, and resume from where you left off.

The program can run whatever applications you like any way you want to run them. All software designed for Linux or Windows would also be designe to run natively on a Mac, but that won’t happen and VMware Fusion (or even Parallels Desktop) is the software to have till it happens. RIM has officially announced the BlackBerry Desktop Manager (BBDM) on Mac, to be released this Friday, October 2. You can download it for free from www.blackberry.com/mac.

The BlackBerry Desktop Manager is designed to work with Mac OS 10.5.5 and higher, and supports smartphones running BlackBerry OS 4.2 and higher.
